Kong Xinuo (Chinese: 孔玺诺; born 22 May 2009) is a Chinese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder or left back for Shandong Taishan U17.[1]

Early life

Kong was born on 22 May 2009 in Peixian, Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province.[2][3] He joined the Shandong Taishan youth academy at a young age, progressing through the club's youth ranks.[4]

Club career

Kong joined the Shandong Taishan youth academy at a young age. In November 2022, he was part of the Shandong Taishan U13 squad that won the inaugural China Youth Football League U13 national championship, defeating Tsinghua University High School 3–1 in the final.[4] Kong started the final alongside future national team teammates Xu Zengfu, Zhang Junhao, Li Junpeng, and others.[4]

In 2024, during the U15 China Youth Football League, Kong formed a full-back partnership with Zhang Junhao that was credited with improving the team's tactical flexibility.[5] Later that year, he was converted into an inverted defensive midfielder role, playing as a number 8 in central midfield.[5]

In September 2025, Kong represented the Shandong U16 team at the 15th National Games, winning the bronze medal after a 1–0 victory over Jiangsu in the third-place match.[6]

International career

Youth

In March 2023, Kong was selected for the Chinese Football Association Elite Youth Player Training Camp (North China Region, 2009 and 2010 age groups).[7][8]

In March 2024, Kong received his first call-up to the China U15 national team training camp under Japanese coach Fukuoka Toshiaki.[9] In April 2024, he traveled with the team to Osaka, Japan for a training camp.[10] He was again selected for the U15 national team in November 2024 for a training camp in Japan.[11]

U16 national team

In March 2025, Kong was named in the China U16 national team squad for the first time, as one of eight Shandong Taishan players selected for a training camp in Europe, including matches in Germany, France, and the Netherlands.[12][13] The club noted that Taishan youth players accounted for 32% of the 25-man squad, making it the largest contributor to the national team.[14]

In June 2025, Kong was selected for the U16 national team squad for the Shenyang Peace Cup international tournament, competing against South Korea, Japan, and Uzbekistan.[15] However, he suffered a serious injury during the Montaigu Tournament in France, forcing him to miss the remainder of the tournament and the subsequent Hohhot Four-Nation Tournament.[16][17]

In September 2025, Kong returned to the national team setup, being named in the U16 squad for the fourth training camp of the year in Xianghe.[18]

In November 2025, Kong was selected for the China U16 squad for the 2026 U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers in Chongqing.[19] He appeared as a substitute in the opening match against Bahrain on 23 November 2025, contributing to a 4–0 victory.[20][21] Following an 8–0 victory over Sri Lanka on 28 November, Kong stated in an interview that the team had prepared extensively for breaking down defensive opponents and emphasized the importance of the final group match against Bangladesh.[22][23]

U17 national team

On 18 January 2026, Kong was promoted to the China U17 national team for the first training camp of 2026, as one of seven Shandong Taishan players selected to prepare for the 2026 U-17 Asian Cup.[24][25] The Chinese Football Association officially announced the 26-man squad for the camp in Shenzhen, running from 21 January to 12 February 2026.[26][27]
