Knut Eirik Dahl (born May 1967[2]) is an investment banker and Managing Partner at Spencer House Partners[3], a London-based boutique corporate financial advisory firm. The firm provides "strategic corporate finance advice, mergers and acquisitions support, capital raising and financial restructuring services, primarily to financial services firms".[4]. Dahl specialises in strategic transactions in the asset and wealth management industries.

Career
editDahl studied at Indiana University Bloomington from 1987 to 1990, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.[6]
In September 2005, Bear Sterns hired Dahl[7] as a Senior Managing Director in investment banking to focus on the asset management sector, focusing on hedge funds, fund of funds, and alternative asset managers.[8] While there, he was Head of Specialty Finance in the Financial Institutions Group.[9]
Dahl was then a managing director at J. P. Morgan, before joining Spencer House Partners as a Partner in September 2009.[10] [11]
While at Spencer House Partners, Dahl has advised on multiple notable mergers or acquisitions, including Vontobel's acquisition of TwentyFour Asset Management[12][13], Corient Private Wealth's acquisition of Stonehage Fleming and Stanhope Capital Group to create the world's largest non-bank wealth manager[14][15], BlueBay's $1.5bn acquisition by Royal Bank of Canada in 2010 to form RBC BlueBay Asset Management[16], Alpha Associate's €350m acquisition by Amundi[17], and Janus Capital Group's merger with Henderson Group to form Janus Henderson.[18][19]
Dahl has also worked at Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, and Putnam Lovell.
