Kiran Babu Pun (1990) is a Nepali folk and modern singer, songwriter, composer, music producer, and cultural administrator. He has written, composed and sung different folk and modern Nepali songs. On January 17, 2024, he was appointed as the managing director of the Cultural Corporation by the cabinet of Nepal.[1][2]
Kiran Babu Pun was born on 8 June 1990 in Sanibheri 06, Western Rukum, Nepal. He earned a postgraduate degree in music. He debuted in his musical career with the song Maya Chha Yo Manma[3]. Early in his career, he also researched intangible folk traditions across the country and worked with cultural organizations focused on preservation [4][5][6]
On 18 June 2018, Pun was nominated as Best Lok Dohori Musician for his song Bacha in the 2nd Annual Osnepal Music Awards 2075,[7] which he won on 10 July 2018.[8] Kiran Babu Pun has been active since the early 2010s in his musical career. He has released multiple folk and modern songs. Selected works[by whom?] are Samaya,[9] Bacha,[10] Dharma,[11] Pyari Bahini-2 (Maitighar),[12] and Chhitij Pari 2.[13]
