Jotsna Ruparelia is a Ugandan business woman of Indian origin born in Kamuli district in Eastern Uganda.[1][2] She is a director at the Ruparelia Group, a Ugandan based conglomerate.[2] Ruparelia moved to the United Kingdom after Indians were expelled from Uganda by Idi Amin's government.[2]In 2018,Ruparelia was listed among notable Indian women achievers in Africa and the middle East[3]
Career
editJotsna Ruparelia is a business woman and a director of Ruparelia group of companies.[2] She has a background in finance and foreign exchange operations which informs her role in the group.[4] She is also a co founder of the Ruperelia Foundation where she leads the grant department. Her management career has been built through her engagement in related work as the manager at Express Travel Beaureu and trainee at Midland Banking at the department of foreign exchange department while working in the United KIngdom.[4]
In her career, Jotsna is a secretary at Karibu Forex Bureu Limited, and manages Speke hotel, Crane Management Services and Redfox Tours and travel Company.[5]
Personal Life
editIn 1977, she married to Sudir Ruparelia and they have two daughters, Meera and Sheena.[6] Their son Rajiv died in a motor accident on 3 May 2026.[7]
