Jane is a 2019 short film, written and directed by English actress Kathryn Prescott. It follows the titular character Jane, a heroin addict who is invited to her estranged daughter's birthday party.[1]

Prescott conceived of the film after moving next door to a single room occupancy hotel in downtown Los Angeles. She aimed to portray a more realistic image of opiate addicts than is usually found in mainstream media, inspired by people she'd assisted while volunteering at a needle exchange.[2]

The film premiered at the Austin Film Festival in 2019 and received positive reviews.[3]
