Poetry of Henry Towersey

edit
Stranded
edit

We sit separate awaiting the buzz I know it draws near

The walls seem closer now

The bees are here the cold sting of saltwater meets my lips

no good for a stranded man

When did it come to this old friend

your chair has long been eaten away by hungry mouths

Dust

Eyes
edit

as time ticks by sunset skies fade

these walls suffocate me

I am short of breath as I watch your eyes

they now illuminate the darkness that surrounds

ten past eight the face of the clock stares back morose

waiting patiently for time to pass us by
