He Sifan (Chinese: 何思凡; pinyin: Hé Sīfán; born 14 January 2009) is a Chinese professional footballer who plays as a forward or winger for Chinese Super League club Shandong Taishan's youth system.

Early life

edit

He was born on 14 January 2009 in Hefei, Anhui. He began playing football at Zhuxi Primary School in Hefei, where he served as captain of the school team and earned academic honours.[1] In 2018, during the Yingxin Cup tournament in Nanjing, his performance attracted the attention of scouts from Shandong Luneng Taishan Football School. Following a successful one-week trial in April 2019, he joined the school's 2009 age-group team in September 2019, initially entering the yellow squad before promotion to the red squad within two months.[1]

Club career

edit

Shandong Taishan Youth

edit

He represents Shandong Taishan in the Chinese Football Association's youth league system. In November 2022, he played a key role in the inaugural China Youth Football League, scoring the winning goal in the U13 national final against Tsinghua University High School on 26 November 2022. His 26th-minute strike secured a 1–0 victory for Shandong Taishan U13, earning the club the championship title.[2]

In February 2023, he was selected for the Chinese Football Association's elite youth training camp for the 2009 and 2010 age groups in the North China region.[3] In November 2024, he was named in the China U15 national team selection squad that travelled to Japan for a training camp from 28 November to 9 December 2024.[4]

In January 2026, he was selected as one of seven Shandong Taishan youth players to join the senior first team's winter training in Haikou, as part of the club's integrated development strategy to expose elite prospects to professional environments.[5][6]

International career

edit

He received his first national team call-up in March 2024, when he was selected for the China U15 national team selection's third phase of training.[7] In March 2025, he was named in the China U16 squad for domestic training and European camps, as one of eight players from the Shandong Taishan youth system included in the 25-man roster.[8]

On 28 May 2025, he scored the opening goal in China's 2–1 victory over Saudi Arabia U16 in the 2025 CFA Hohhot International Football Tournament. He scored in the 8th minute, receiving a long ball from goalkeeper Xu Cengfu, controlling a header from Kuang Zhaolei, and finishing with a chip over the onrushing goalkeeper.[9] In post-match comments, he revealed the team had specifically prepared tactical plans targeting Saudi Arabia's defensive vulnerabilities in transition, stating that "their strength is actually not as strong as ours."[10][11] He also appeared in the tournament final on 1 June 2025, when China defeated Australia 5–2 to win the championship.[12]

In November 2025, he was promoted to the China U17 squad for the 2026 AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualification. He started in the 12–0 victory against Brunei on 26 November,[13] and on 28 November, he came on as a substitute against Sri Lanka, scoring in the 8–0 win with a shot that rebounded off the post after cutting inside from the right, and providing an assist for Shuai Weihao.[14][15]

Style of play

edit

He primarily operates as a right winger or center-forward, though he is capable of playing various attacking midfield roles. He is noted for his physical strength, explosive acceleration, and clinical finishing ability with either foot. Coaches have praised his high football intelligence and positional versatility across the front line.[1]
