The Foton Xiangling Q (Chinese: 福田祥菱Q) is a series of micro-trucks manufactured by the Chinese automaker Foton Motor. Introduced in August 2023,[2] The model range includes both conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) variants and battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions.[3][4]
The Xiangling Q succeeds earlier Xiangling models such as the Foton Xiangling V as the entry-level micro truck product while introducing a redesigned cab, updated interior, and expanded powertrain lineup intended to meet both conventional and new energy commercial vehicle markets.[5]
Overview
editThe Xiangling Q was unveiled by Foton in August 2023 as part of the company's Xiangling micro truck family.[6] Despite being available as both ICE and BEV powertrains, the Xiangling Q is part of Foton's strategic leap in rapid NEV transformation, resulting in more exposure of the EV variant of the Xiangling Q.[7]
The Xiangling Q features push start button, automatic headlamps, electronic handbrake, and connected infotainment system with a large screen.[8]
Internal combustion engine (ICE)
editThe main powertrain of the Xiangling Q ICE variant for the Chinese market is a Dongan (东安) supplied, DAM16NS 1.6 liter inline-4 engine producing 120hp (88kW) mated to a Landai supplied LD516MR 5-speed manual transmission.[9][8] An additional engine option is a 1.3 liter inline-4 engine supplied by Wuling Liuji (五菱柳机).[1]
Battery electric vehicle (EV)
editBattery electric versions of the Xiangling Q were introduced alongside the conventional models as part of Foton's expanding new energy commercial vehicle portfolio, retaining the same cab structure as the ICE variants while replacing the conventional powertrain with an electric traction motor and lithium battery pack.[10] Depending on configuration, the electric models are offered with different battery capacities and cargo body options. Batteries are third generation CATL-supplied batteries in 32kW and 42kW sizes powering a FTTBP070B electric motor producing 75kW (102hp). Fast-charging capability is available on selected models.[11][8][12]
In March 2025, Foton launched a version of the Foton Xiangling Q featuring a IECO semi-solid-state battery with a lifecycle of 800,000 km.[13]
Variants
edit
The Xiangling Q is offered in numerous body styles. For the body construction, the Xiangling Q is available as an integrated chassis, with the cargo bed integrated with the cab as one, and conventional separated chassis. Cab styles include single cab and crew cab. The body styles includes chassis cab, dropside truck, stake-bed truck, box van, refrigerated truck, and special-purpose commercial vehicle chassis. Both ICE and EV versions are available across several wheelbase and payload configurations.[8]
Markets
editThe Foton Xiangling Q was initially launched in China, but is planned to be launched in South East Asia, Americas, and Europe.[1]
