Dippendu Biswas (born 24 April 2003) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for the Indian Super League club Mohun Bagan Super Giant and the India national under-23 football team.[1][2]

Early Life

Biswas was born on 24 April 2003 in West Bengal, India.[2] He joined the youth academy setup of Mohun Bagan Super Giant, appearing in regional youth tournaments and the Calcutta Football League before transitioning into the senior first squad.[3][4]

Biswas was officially promoted from the reserve squad to the senior first team on 1 January 2024, signing a contract extension with the club until May 2027.[2] He made his senior competitive appearances during the 2024–25 domestic season under head coach Jose Molina.[1]

On 23 September 2024, Biswas scored his first senior professional goal, scoring a header in a 3–2 victory against NorthEast United FC during an Indian Super League fixture.[5][6] Following his initial match appearances, head coach Jose Molina commented on his tactical role within the squad progression.[7] He later participated in both domestic league games and continental AFC matches.[8]

International Career

In March 2026, Biswas received his first selection for the India national under-23 football team under head coach Naushad Moosa for the U-23 Tri-Nation International Football Championship held in Arunachal Pradesh.[9][10]
