Daring Foods, Inc. (commonly known as Daring) is an American food company that produces plant-based chicken products. The company develops meat alternatives made from plant-derived ingredients and sells its products primarily in the United States.[1]

History

edit

Daring Foods was founded in 2018 by Ross Mackay.[2]

The company launched with a focus on plant-based chicken products designed to replicate the taste and texture of conventional poultry. Daring expanded its distribution through retail grocery channels in the United States.[3] [4]

In 2025, Daring Foods was acquired by v2food, an Australian plant-based food company, with strategic involvement from Ajinomoto, a Japanese food company.[5][6][7] [8]

Products

edit

Daring produces a range of plant-based chicken products, including original plant-based chicken pieces; breaded and flavoured varieties; and diced and shredded formats.

The products are made from plant-derived proteins, including soy protein, combined with oils, seasonings, and other ingredients.[9]

Operations

edit

Daring operates within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector.[10]

The company distributes its products through retail grocery channels in the United States and has also pursued foodservice partnerships. Manufacturing is carried out through a combination of internal capabilities and third-party production partners.[11][12]
