Its similar to the last game in the series Conquest of Elysium 4 in game play and graphics in fact a lot of sprites are recycled from other troops and commanders. Gameplay & goal

Conquest of Elysium 5 follows the player who chooses one of 24 classes against a chosen amount of AI controlled players who randomly get assigned a class. The goal of the game is to be the last standing empire by eliminating other empires. You collect resources such as iron and gold and sometimes a class specific resource such as ritual sacrifices and herbs and spices. There is also multiple planes of reality such as hell, heaven, and the sky some faction will start you in the specific plane according to your lore. Army's are built using a leader such as a commander and or using a class specific commander such as a bishop or a necromancer apprentice and you buying or conducting rituals to spawn them in. there are multiple ways you'er able to eliminate other factions in-game. The most common way you would eliminate a faction off the game is to eliminate all commanders belonging to that faction another way is to conquer all of the other factions citadels (citadels are recruitment hubs).

First you chose the map size from small 40,28 squares, medium 50,36 squares, large 60,44 squares, huge is 70,52 squares and enormous is 78,60 squares.

Then you pick your society between dark ages, agricultural, empire, fallen empire, monarchy and the dawn of a new empire. all with its special spawns and monuments, like for the empire society has its own mega city the capitulum habituating four squares. After this you pick your class and if you choose so the AI players classes.
