Thomas & Friends: Calling All Engines is a 60-minute animated direct-to-DVD movie released by HiT Entertainment in 2005 for the 70th anniversary of The Railway Series. It is the second full-length Thomas & Friends feature film and takes place on the Island of Sodor, where tensions erupt between steam and diesel engines during the construction of a new airport, leading to a great brawl, but afterwards, the engines all work together, leading to the construction of the Sodor Airport. The plot follows Thomas as he tries to prove he is the most useful engine on the Island of Sodor while steam and diesel engines argue over the construction of a new airport.
