Brian Kim (born April 1976) is an United States of America Youtuber, small business owner, and certified public accountant in the state of Illinois. He started his Youtube channel ClearValueTax in December 2018.[1] His channel increased in popularity during the 2020 COVID pandemic when he started posting videos about the USA's first and second stimulus checks (Economic Impact Payments) along with speculation videos about a third potential stimulus check. It was around this time he also started posting daily videos covering the previous day's news and politics although the channel's episode creation rate is more sporadic and spread out in 2025. Nevertheless he continues to post videos regarding taxes, the state of American government, and macro economy trends.
As of November 2025 his most viewed video is titled "Will There Be Another Stimulus Check?" from 2020.[2]
Early Life & Education
editBrian Kim was born to parents of Korean descent in the 1970s. He graduated from high school in the 1990s and later attended a university to graduate with a degree in accounting. After graduation he started working in a Top 25 Accounting firm but stated in a video that it was not a good fit. It ultimately ended when he decided to quit and start his own business of tax preparation called Clear Value Tax in the Chicago metro area.[3]
He received his CPA license in March 2009 and officially started his business in 2010, both in the state of Illinois.[4]
In 2025 he published a finance book titled "The Book of Wealth: 10 Steps To Financial Freedom" [5]
His channel continues strong in 2026 while expanding to other categories, such as real estate investing.
Youtube Content
editHis video themes include but are not limited to: stock market investing (including gold & Bitcoin), income tax preparation tips, macro-political trends, and a monthly housing market video. During the cryptocurrency bubble of 2022 ClearValueTax posted a video about lending coins on the cryptocurrency website Kucoin which was then deleted in the days after the FTX bankruptcy in late 2022.
