The Bihar State Sports Authority (BSSA) is a sports governing body in the Indian state of Bihar.[1][2][3][4][5][6] It is an affiliated member of School Games Federation of India.[7]

BSSA was established on 25 March 2023 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, as part of the Government of Bihar's initiative to the state's sports .[8] It manages and oversees various sports facilities in Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna, which hosts national sports events and training camps.[9][10]

Coaching Recruitment

In 2025, BSSA announced recruitment for 103 coaches in 25 sporting disciplines including athletics, boxing, kabaddi, swimming, and shooting.[11]

The Bihar Khel Pratibha Khoj Pratiyogita was launched to identify sporting talent among approximately 6 million students across 40,000 schools, with the long-term aim of preparing athletes for the 2032 Olympics.[12]
