Bianca Castro (born 28 March 2001)[2] is a Portuguese actress and climate activist. Castro is a part of the Fridays for Future Movement and Greenpeace International.[3] Castro has also acted for films such as Vermelho Monet (2022), Papel Principal (2023) and The Girl from Saturn (2021).[2]
Castro began her climate activism in 2019 with the Fridays for future movement. She was the organizer of Lisbon’s first ever student climate strike and currently serves as Deputy Program Leader of Roots.[3] She is also an enviromental columnist for the newspaper Público, and is a guest author for several other publications.[1] However, Castro herself has reported that it is “really hard to make our demands heard,” and that difficulty in making an impact means that many are losing faith in their cause.[4]
