Beast Industries is an American media, consumer products, and entertainment conglomerate founded by internet personality and entrepreneur Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast. The company is responsible for Donaldson's content production operations, as well as Feastables, ViewStats, Beast Games, and Lunchly.[1][2]

History

edit

Beast Industries was founded by Jimmy Donaldson, known online as MrBeast.[3][4]

In 2023, Jeffrey Housenbold became chief executive officer of Beast Industries.[5][6]

In January 2026, Beast Industries received a $200 million investment from BitMine Immersion Technologies at a reported valuation of $5 billion.[7][8]

In February 2026, Beast Industries acquired the financial technology company Step.[9][10] Later that month, Housenbold stated that the company was seeking to reduce its reliance on Donaldson's personal brand and operate as a broader entertainment platform.[6]

Operations

edit

Beast Industries operates businesses in digital media, consumer products, entertainment, and financial technology.[3][4][6]

The company oversees the production and distribution of MrBeast content.[3][4] It also owns and operates several consumer-facing brands, including Feastables, a snack food company, and Lunchly, a packaged lunch brand.[3][4]

As of 2026, Beast Industries employed approximately 700 people.[3] The company is headquartered in Greenville, North Carolina.[3][11]

According to chief executive officer Jeffrey Housenbold, Beast Industries operates as a holding company for Donaldson's business ventures and brands.[6]

Controversies

edit

Working conditions

edit

Former employees accused founder Jimmy Donaldson of fostering a difficult workplace. Editor Matt Turner told The New York Times that during his time working for Donaldson between February 2018 and September 2019 he was berated almost daily, called a "retard", and often left uncredited for his edits.[12] Insider reported that Turner described the same allegations in a 2018 video and in an October 2019 Twitter thread.[13]

Another editor, Nate Anderson, said he left after one week in 2018 because of what he viewed as unreasonable expectations and later received death threats from fans after sharing his experience.[12][13] Nine additional former employees similarly stated that Donaldson could be generous but that his demeanor shifted when the cameras were off.[12][13] Donaldson rejected the accusations, saying that the company maintains high standards without being toxic, and he said he paid Turner $10,000 and recommended him for another job when his contract ended.[14]

Class action lawsuit

edit

In September 2024, five former contestants on Beast Games filed a class action lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court against Donaldson, Amazon, and the show's production partners.[15] They alleged chronic mistreatment on set, including sexual harassment, unsafe conditions, and unpaid expenses.[16][17] The plaintiffs also said they were pressured to sign illegal contracts and submit false paperwork in order to secure Nevada tax credits for the production.[18]

Lawsuit by former employee

edit

In April 2026, Beast Industries was sued by former employee Lorrayne Mavromatis, who accused his company of years of sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and wrongful termination after she became a mother. She also accused the company of demeaning treatment. The company denied these allegations.[19][20]
