Barrett Leddy (born May 6, 1992) is an American voice actor and comedian, known for his work in animation, audiobooks, and video games. He is voiced Iago in Lego Disney Princess: The Castle Quest replacing the late Gilbert Gottfried.[1] He is the winner of an Audie Award and two Voice Arts Awards.

Early life and education

Barrett was born in Natick, Massachusetts and later attended Westfield State University.

Career

Barrett started his voice acting career on The Howard Stern Show's Celebrity Impressions Contest, impersonating Gilbert Gottfried.[2] He has continued contributing material to the program.

His voice work is heard in animated series such as Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Ishura, and Robin Hood: Mischief in Sherwood. In 2023, he succeeded Gottfried (who passed away in 2022) as the voice of Iago in Lego Disney Princess: The Castle Quest.[3]

Leddy's work in video games includes Cookie Run: Kingdom, Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 1 & 2, Genshin Impact, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, Stormgate, and Honor of Kings.

Leddy has narrated audiobooks by notable authors such as R. L. Stine, Holly Black, Katherine Paterson, Gordon Korman, Shari Lapena, Joby Warrick, Dr. Will Bulsiewicz, Bill Oakley, and Avi. He appeared opposite Natasha Lyonne in Bill Oakley's Audible Original Space: 1969.[4] He will appear opposite Alan Cumming and Gaten Matarazzo in the Audible Original, Underdogs: A Musical[5] in March 2026.

He has appeared onstage at such venues as 54 Below, Symphony Space, The Bell House, Club Cumming, UCB Theater, New York Comedy Club, and The Hard Rock Hotel NYC.

Awards and recognition

in 2019, Leddy received the Audie Award for Best Original Work, as a cast member of Edelman and Fishman's Spin: the Rumpelstiltskin Musical.[6] He has also received two Voice Arts Awards. AudioFile magazine has praised Leddy's "compelling" performances.[7]
