Avinash Kumar is an officer of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in Jharkhand, India.[1]
He belongs to 1993 Batch of IAS.[2]
Kumar was born on 29 August 1969. He holds a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and M.Tech. from IIT Delhi.
He started his career as Sub Divisional Officer of Arrah (Bhojpur).[3][4]
Initially he was in Bihar cadre and was given Jharkhand cadre after separation of the State of Bihar into Bihar and Jharkhand in 2000.[5]
During his career, Kumar has held many key Government positions including being Deputy Commissioner of Dumka and Ranchi, Divisional Commissioner of Kolhan Division, OSD to Governor during Governor Rule, Transport Commissioner, Tribal Welfare Commissioner, Chief Resident Commissioner, Development Commissioner, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Jharkhand Electricity Power Corporation and others.[6][7][8][9]
Currently he serves as the Chief Secretary of Jharkhand.[10][11]
