Astana (Kurdish: ئاستانە) is an independent intellectual movement and cultural organization based in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The organization states that its objective is to establish a contemporary intellectual discourse that presents religion as a comprehensive alternative. It aims to foster an active and optimistic generation guided by religious texts and rational analysis, while addressing intellectual crises and cognitive doubts associated with atheism, other religions, and various schools of thought.

Organizational Branches

Astana operates through three main branches:

  • Astana Center (Template:Lang-ckb): The core intellectual and administrative hub, which focuses on producing digital content, organizing educational programs, and hosting public forums.
  • Astana Library (Template:Lang-ckb): The publishing house and bookstore branch. It publishes, prints, and distributes literature covering philosophy, Islamic thought, historical research, and general literature.[1]
  • Astana Café (Template:Lang-ckb): A physical café and social space located within the organization's cultural venue, designed to host visitors, students, and attendees of their intellectual events.

  • Podcasts and Media: Producing audio-visual content, including regular intellectual podcasts, debates, and operating "Astana Radio."
  • Book Publishing: Publishing physical books and operating digital databases to make intellectual, religious, and philosophical works available to readers in Kurdish and Persian.
