Ankush Sabharwal is an Indian entrepreneur and technology executive, founder and chief executive officer of CoRover, an Indian AI Company associated with the development of BharatGPT, a multilingual AI platform focused on Indian languages and enterprise applications.[1][2][3]
He has been associated with the development of AI-powered virtual assistants from government, enterprise and public-service applications in India.[4][5] He is known for his contributions to conversational AI, language technologies and the deployment of AI-driven digital assistance platforms in India. Early life and education
editAnkush was born in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. He completed his education locally before pursuing higher education in computer science. He earned his Master of Science (MS) degree in Software Systems from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. He is an alumnus of BITS Pilani, ICFAI and IIM-C.[7]
Career
editSabharwal founded CoRover as a conversational AI company focused on virtual assistants, enterprise automation and multilingual AI technologies. He has contributed in the developments of BharatGPT, an AI platform designed to support voice and text interactions across multiple Indian languages. He has been associated with initiatives involving conversational AI for public-sector and enterprise use cases in India.[8][9]
Sabharwal has commented publicly on sovereign artificial intelligence infrastructure in India, including discussions around multilingual AI systems, enterprise adoption and data governance requirements. [8]
In 2025, CoRover partnered with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to launch Mahakhubh AI Sahayata, an AI assistant development to help pilgrims attending the Mahakhubh gathering with navigation and information services.[10][11][12]
Awards and recognition
editIn 2020, Ask Sarkar, an AI platform associated with CoRover that gives verified information related to government schemes, was reported among the winners of the Government of India's Aatma Nirbhar App Innovation Challenge.[13][14]
In 2026, Sabharwal served as a member of the jury for the Economic Times Education Excellence Award.[15]
