In December 2025, AIAWU announced a series of protests against the implementation of the new labour codes. In a statement, they called these codes, "..a direct attack on India's working people and a blatant disregard for democratic processes."[5]

They have also been demanding for better implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). Members of the union of the Kalaburagi district of Karnataka staged massive protest utside the office of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister and district in-charge Priyank Kharge demanding effective implementation of the MGNREGA.[6]

After the repeal of MGNREGA 2005 by the new Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025 (VB-G RAM G 2025), in December 2025, AIAWU has give a call to all its units at village levels to mobilize and reject the new act in all Gram Sabhas across the country.[7]

In the year 2025, a notification[8] was released by Ministry of Rural Development regarding revision of wages for MGNREGA workers, AIAWU condemned it as an 'insufficient' wage revision.[9] In their statement they said, "The Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) has issued a notification revising wage rates, but the increase remains marginal, ranging from 2% to 7% on average."[9]

On 20 April 2025, All India Kisan Sabha, Centre of Indian Trade Unions, and AIAWU together called for large rally under the banner of Mazdoor Kisan Rally to raise the issues of peasants and workers.[10]
