Alex Pudmann is a German-Russian concert pianist and chamber musician, who lives in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He has been active internationally as a soloist, chamber musician, and recording artist. Until 2025, he was professionally active under the name Alexey Pudinov.
Early life and education
editPudmann was born in Nizhny Tagil, Russia. He completed his early musical education at a state college of music and art in Nizhny Tagil before continuing his studies in Germany and the United Kingdom. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main and later at the Royal College of Music in London and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart. Among his teachers were Norma Fisher, Herbert Seidel, Angelika Merkle, Bernhard Wetz, Hans-Peter Stenzl, and Graham Scott.[1]
Artistic career
editAs a chamber musician, Pudmann has collaborated with various instrumentalists and vocalists and is active in piano duo and chamber music projects. [2] He is a founding member of the piano duo TWO4PIANO [3] together with Katerina Moskaleva. The duo is based in Frankfurt am Main and has performed extensively in Germany. [4]
Festivals
editPudmann performs internationally and has appeared at music festivals in Europe and North America. He has been listed as Artist in Residence at Pianofest in the Hamptons (New York), where he appeared under his former professional name Alexey Pudinov. [5]
Discography
editPudmann’s discography includes solo and chamber music recordings released by the classical music labels Kaleidos, Musikeditionen and Naxos. His solo debut album Neue Bahnen, released under the name Alexey Pudinov, received a published review in the Luxembourg-based classical music magazine Pizzicato. [6]
His recordings are listed in the artist database of the classical music portal Klassik Heute. [7] Further releases, including chamber music recordings with TWO4PIANO and vocal chamber music projects, are documented by Kaleidos Musikeditionen. [8]
