editAdvanced Technology Services, Inc. (ATS) is a privately held American industrial services company founded in 1985 and headquartered in Peoria, Illinois. The company operates in the manufacturing sector and is led by chief executive officer, Jeff Owens. As of published reports, the company employs approximately 2,900 people[1] and provides outsourced maintenance and reliability services for manufacturing and industrial facilities in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Mexico.
History
editAdvanced Technology Services was founded in 1985 in Peoria, Illinois, by former Caterpillar employees to provide managed maintenance services for industrial equipment. [9]
During the company’s early growth, Caterpillar held a majority ownership stake in the business. In 1996, ATS completed a management buyout and continued operating as a privately held company.
Over time, ATS expanded its service offerings to include reliability programs, technical training, and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) support. As the company's services expanded, it established operations across the United States and later in Mexico and the United Kingdom. [10] [11]
Operations
editATS provides outsourced maintenance and reliability services for manufacturing and industrial facilities. Its operations include long-term service agreements as well as supplemental and project‑based support. The company’s services include equipment maintenance, reliability programs, maintenance workforce support, and related operational services for industrial plants.
Awards & Recognition
editIn 2023, Advanced Technology Services received the Robert W. Campbell Award from the National Safety Council, for its workplace safety practices.[12] [13]
