A Christmas Carol is an upcoming American Christmas fantasy film written and directed by Robert Eggers. It is based on the 1843 novel of the same name by Charles Dickens.
Premise
editBitter and cold-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve to convince him to change his ways.
Production
editIt was announced in June 2025 that Warner Bros. Pictures was developing a new adaptation of the story, with Robert Eggers set to write and direct. It was stated he was looking to cast Willem Dafoe to portray Ebenezer Scrooge.[1]
