Background
editA series of "Patriots Collaborate for Good Governance" 2025 Legislative Council election forums started from November 11, and will run until November 30, which is the first forum organized by the Hong Kong Government. The forums aims to enhance public and voters' awareness of candidates, and gain deeper understanding of each candidate's election platform.[1][2]
Arrangements
editBesides, the forum format features self-introductions by candidates, campaign team presentations, a question-and-answer session, and a debate on a selected topic. And the forums activities will be broadcast live on Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) TV 31 and RTHK Radio 1. Candidates and voters from all geographical constituencies, functional constituencies and the Election Committee constituency, as well as the general public, will be invited to the forum.[3]
Reactions
editSecretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Erick Tsang emphasized that the proceedings is smooth and the atmosphere is vibrant in the opening forum. And the South China Morning Post reported that the candidates focused on education, health and the economy, which means that livelihood issues have become a key topic of Hong Kong's first Legislative Council election forum.[4][5]
