Brachyhesma matarankae, or Brachyhesma (Brachyhesma) matarankae, is a species of bee in the family Colletidae and the subfamily Euryglossinae. It is endemic to Australia. It was described in 1977 by Australian entomologist Elizabeth Exley.[1][2]

Distribution and habitat
editThe species occurs in the Northern Territory. The type locality is 8 km north of Mataranka. It has also been recorded from Elsey Cemetery, Daly Waters and Barrow Creek.[2][1]
Behaviour
editThe adults are flying mellivores. Flowering plants visited by the bees include Eucalyptus species.[2]
