Carlos Alcaraz was the reigning champion,[4] but withdrew before the tournament began.[5]

The first-round match between Stan Wawrinka (40 years, 320 days) and Thijs Boogaard (17 years, 221 days) marked the largest age gap between two players in an ATP Tour singles main-draw match since the 2011 Vienna Open first-round match between Thomas Muster and Dominic Thiem, and the second-largest gap overall since the establishment of the ATP Tour in 1990.[6]
