1969 Manchester City Council election

Elections to Manchester City Council were held on Thursday, 8 May 1969. One third of the councillors seats were up for election, with each successful candidate to serve a three-year term of office. The Conservative Party retained overall control of the council.[1][2]

Aldermanic election, 1 April 1970

Caused by the disqualification on 26 March 1970 of Alderman Ottiwell Lodge (Conservative, elected as an alderman by the council on 4 August 1965).[3][4]

In his place, Councillor F. J. Dunn (Conservative, Longsight, elected 13 May 1954)[5] was elected as an alderman by the council on 1 April 1970.[6]
