History
editIn historical records the village was first mentioned in 1248. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, it was part of Nyitra County within the Kingdom of Hungary.

editThe municipality lies at an altitude of 151 metres (495 ft)[2] and covers an area of 4.74 km2 (1.83 sq mi) (2025).[4]
