Chris Chan → Christopher Chan Seng Heng – "Chris Chan" more commonly refers to a rather infamous figure known for creating a certain mashup between Sonic and Pikachu than a Singaporean esports player. I feel this article would be vandalism central under its current name. Dr. Precursor (talk) 23:29, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose - see discussion above - OpalYosutebito 『talk』 『articles I want to eat』 23:30, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose – "Chris Chan" is the WP:COMMONNAME, and would in any case redirect to the article's new title (making it no less of a vandalism target). jlwoodwa (talk) 23:42, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
Good point. Dr. Precursor (talk) 01:48, 10 September 2025 (UTC)- If the moderators are so adamant about CWC not having a page of her own, the redirect that would result from the page move should be deleted as well. Dr. Precursor (talk) 01:50, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- No. Someone who is looking for our biography about this Singaporean executive is likely to enter the search term "Chris Chan"; we should not do them a disservice just because we do not want an article about an unrelated person with the same name. jlwoodwa (talk) 04:34, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose and speedy close - see previous discussion. ArtemisiaGentileschiFan (talk) 01:02, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- I agree. At this point, should it be added to a FAQ section? - OpalYosutebito 『talk』 『articles I want to eat』 01:05, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- Comment This article is not
vandalism central
because it is semi-protected. Curbon7 (talk) 03:15, 10 September 2025 (UTC) - Oppose: every single source given in the article calls him simply Chris Chan. this is a clear-cut example of WP:COMMONNAME. even the Olympedia entry on him says that his used name is "Chris Chan". ―Howard • 🌽33 12:29, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose, we follow WP:COMMONNAME. Chris-Chan / Christine Weston Chandler does not appear to have a Wikipedia article, so there is no problem with the status quo. 162 etc. (talk) 16:53, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- You know, for someone who is basically the Voldemort of Wikipedia, we sure do bring them up a lot... - OpalYosutebito 『talk』 『articles I want to eat』 16:55, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- I second this. If Chris Chan/Christine Weston Chandler really is the Voldemort of Wikipedia, any mentions of her name should be deleted. That includes this article, even if it is a redirect. Dr. Precursor (talk) 20:46, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- The existence of this article is not a "mention of her name", because it is not about her. It is about an unrelated person of the same name. jlwoodwa (talk) 21:45, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- "Chan" isn't even that person's actual surname. ArtemisiaGentileschiFan (talk) 17:50, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
- It is what she is most commonly known as, however. Dr. Precursor (talk) 04:01, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
- Common name or not, I'm getting tired of arguing about this. The lolcow's page is salted, and quite frankly, I think moving the Chris Chan page because of someone who doesn't even have a page of their own is redundant and breaks the "they-who-shall-not-be-named" rule... - OpalYosutebito 『talk』 『articles I want to eat』 04:49, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
- Peristent vandalism might be a practical reason but it doesn't seem to be happening. —DIYeditor (talk) 13:01, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
- Persistent vandalism is solved by page protection, not page moves. jlwoodwa (talk) 15:46, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
- Maybe it could be given the same treatment as Gulf of America. Dr. Precursor (talk) 01:04, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
- I tried to make it not redirect, but I couldn't figure out how. Dr. Precursor (talk) 01:05, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
- There is no reason to redirect or change the page name. ArtemisiaGentileschiFan (talk) 01:10, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
- Chris Chan should be made a redirect to Christopher Chan Seng Heng and fully or extended-confirmed protected in order to avoid vandalism relating to CWC. Dr. Precursor (talk) 01:12, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
- We've told you repeatedly that we're not going to associate ourselves with someone whose page is already salted. Besides, WP:COMMONNAME dictates that Chris Chan should stay the title name, since it is the name most commonly used in sources relating to the Singaporean man. - OpalYosutebito 『talk』 『articles I want to eat』 01:18, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
- There is no good reason to do that. ArtemisiaGentileschiFan (talk) 01:21, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
- There would be no reason to do that when the page is already salted and not going to be created again for the foreseeable future. HurricaneZeta (talk) 02:00, 16 September 2025 (UTC)

Name
editwhy can't we just put Chris chan (ceo) or something like that to avoid confusion Tankfarter (talk) 10:46, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
- This has been discussed multiple times. There is no need to disambiguate. ArtemisiaGentileschiFan (talk) 14:04, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
