Grind Master Machines Pvt Ltd is an Indian manufacturer of surface finishing, microfinishing, and deburring machinery, headquartered in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.[citation needed] In 2018, an *Outlook Business* profile described it as one of India's leading machine tool exporters, noting its rise in the microfinishing sector with a dedicated engineering team and global collaborations.[1] Their early years began in 1984 when the founders built polishing machines in a rented garage.[1]

History

edit

Established in 1984 by Milind and Mohini Kelkar, the company's initial focus was polishing machines for cookware manufacturers like Nirlep and Hawkins.[1]

At IMTEX 2025, Grind Master won the IMTMA Best Design Award for its Bearing Raceway Superfinishing Machine, which featured a patented oscillation mechanism and process monitoring, developed under the Make in India initiative with AMTDC–IIT Madras.[2] The same machine release was covered independently by *Industrial Automation India*.[3]

Operations and Technology

edit

A corporate registry (ZaubaCorp) lists Grind Master as a company incorporated in 1993, headquartered in Aurangabad, with the founders still among its key management personnel.[4]

According to a Siemens case study, Grind Master grew from a small garage operation to manufacturing 450 machines annually, supplying machinery for deburring, grinding, polishing, microfinishing, and robotic automation. It also established alliances across Germany, the U.S., the U.K., China, and Southeast Asia.[5]

Products and Innovations

edit

At IMTEX 2025, Grind Master showcased its NANOFINISH machines—designed for microfinishing and superfinishing automotive powertrain, suspension, and steering components—and roll-finishing solutions for hydraulic cylinders and printing rollers.[6] The company claims over 30 patents and substantial R&D investment.[7]

Corporate Presence

edit

Grind Master lists operations and partnerships across Europe, North America, and Asia, including offices in Beijing and cooperation with firms in Germany, England, and China.[8]
