On January 12, 2026 the CPA and four Chinland Defense Force groups operating in southern Chin State merged.[3]

- CDF - Matupi
- CDF - Kanpetlet
- CDF - Daai
The unification was an effort to bring different Chin resistance groups together under one leadership so they can fight and organize more effectively.[3]
The CPA works with the Chin Brotherhood [4]and is also linked to the Interim Chin National Consultative Council (ICNCC)
Salai Yaw Man, the former Chin Brotherhood spokesperson, states that he is now part of the new Chin People Army.[6][5]
