The Chin People's Army (CPA) or also known as the Chin People's Union (CPU) is a Chin ethnic armed resistance force based in southern Chin State, Myanmar. It was formed on November 15, 2025. In January 12, 2026, the CPA unified with of several Chinland Defense Forces (CDF)[1][2][3][4][5]

The CPA was first formed on November 15, 2025

On January 12, 2026 the CPA and four Chinland Defense Force groups operating in southern Chin State merged.[3]

  • CDF - Mindat
  • CDF - Matupi
  • CDF - Kanpetlet
  • CDF - Daai

The unification was an effort to bring different Chin resistance groups together under one leadership so they can fight and organize more effectively.[3]

The CPA works with the Chin Brotherhood [4]and is also linked to the Interim Chin National Consultative Council (ICNCC)

Salai Yaw Man, the former Chin Brotherhood spokesperson, states that he is now part of the new Chin People Army.[6][5]
