Prifddinas seremonïol Ymerodraeth Persia yn y cyfnod Achaemenaidd oedd Persepolis (Hen Berseg: Pārsa, Perseg: تخت جمشید/پارسه, Takht-e Jamshid neu Chehel Minar). Daw'r ffurf "Persepolis" o'r Groeg Πέρσης πόλις (Dinas Persēs). Saif yn yr hyn sy'n awr yn dde Iran, gerllaw mynyddoedd Zagros.
