Hey, sorry for asking on the English Wikipedia. But is it allowed to be an editor of the Russian Wikipedia anonymously?
editOn Russian Wikipedia, articles can be created by anonymous users. I usually create them for redirects. On here I often have to use Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects. That is why I made Геймовёрс on the Russian Wikipedia redirect to Glitch Productions (but English Wikipedia has an article, Gameoverse.) I am not fluent but I do use dictionary resources like OpenRussian and Wiktionary and machine translation (i.e. DeepL.) Also, I have to use a word declension tool (СловоРул or similar), a grammar website, and a dictionary. I'm pretty good at reading Russian Cyrillic because I can pronounce some words in my head. I frequently look at Russian Wikipedia articles, and even English Wikipedia for Russian phonology. I am not Russian or from Russia, but I use a variety of resources to study it. If you can, can you relay this information to Russian Wikipedia translated into Russian? Sorry for asking about Russian Wikipedia here. But i do know a few words and continue to learn with dictionaries. I've been an anonymous user, but I plan to edit the Russian and English Wikipedias. Does it matter if an English Wikipedia editor also edits other languages' Wikipedias or creates redirects, if their grammar can be fixed. I may have broken grammar in non-English languages. Sorry if I asked here. Thanks ~2026-29780-99 (talk) 11:58, 18 May 2026 (UTC)

Request for Third Opinion
editThere is a content dispute about Federal subjects of Russia being discussed at Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard#Federal_subjects_of_Russia. The question is about the map, and about how to indicate the pronunciation of the names of the first-level administrative subdivisions (republics, krais, oblasts, and federal cities). One editor wants to include accent marks on the titles of the places in the map. Another editor disagrees, and suggests that an IPA column be included in the table instead. What are the opinions of other editors? Should stress marks be used in the titles of places in the map? Should an IPA column be added to the table? Robert McClenon (talk) 06:25, 6 June 2026 (UTC)

The article Platonov Arts Festival has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Tagged for notability concerns and for needing more citations for over 11 years. Poorly sourced article about a provincial arts organization. A Google search found only passing mentions in a couple of books. Lacks significant coverage.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Bearian (talk) 02:19, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- Deprodded plenty of sources if you goole for russian title "Платоновский фестиваль искусств". I added a couple, just for WP:GNG/deprod purposes, and I hope Russian editors do more (but somehow I am pessimistic).
- @Bearian: I would not call Voronezh "province". Do you call San Jose, California or Birmingham province? --Altenmann >talk 02:52, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for fixing that, but no, I didn't search using Cyrillic because it's not on my device. I have nothing against provincial cities, but having lived there n one, I know it's hard to find sources about them. San Jose is actually a great city – I have fond memories of my visit there – but there's a song about going back there for a reason. Bearian (talk) 03:01, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
