Amphimerycidae GT Links
editI’ve noticed that for the Amphimerycidae GT box, the view and edit links don’t link to the correct pages while the discuss link is a red one. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you. PrimalMustelid (talk) 01:41, 17 September 2025 (UTC)
- Fixed it- the template was missing the "title" parameter. --PresN 02:12, 17 September 2025 (UTC)
Re-nomination process
editHello all, this is a request regarding when a topic is renominated for GT after being previous demoted. As this means a nomination of that same topic to become a GT again just with more articles than the first nomination, it would be archive2 not an addition nomination. However as this may be confusing for nominations, should we include this guidance on the main page here? K. Peake 14:57, 22 September 2025 (UTC)
Hurricane Bonnie (1992) was recently merged, which affects the aforementioned good topic. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 00:25, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
similar structure and are well-linked with each other?
editI've got two FA's that fit into "Early 20th century history of the Bronx": American Bank Note Company Printing Plant and Fleetwood Park Racetrack, and a reasonable argument could be made that Louis Abramson fits as well. I'm working on Morris Park Aerodrome, which I hope to bring to FAC pretty soon. I'm not sure if they fit the "similar structure and are well-linked with each other" criteria. They're all about stuff that happened within a few miles of each other, and overlapping time spans. Would these four make a reasonable Featured Topic? RoySmith (talk) 22:22, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

Several hurricane article mergers affecting topics
editRecently, the tropical cyclone WikiProject has taken stock of some of its older articles, and many small articles have been merged. That has affected several topics, including:
- Wikipedia:Good topics/1950 Atlantic hurricane season
- Wikipedia:Good topics/1952 Atlantic hurricane season
- Wikipedia:Good topics/1953 Atlantic hurricane season
- Wikipedia:Good topics/1971 Atlantic hurricane season
- Wikipedia:Good topics/1994 Pacific hurricane season
- Wikipedia:Featured topics/1998 Pacific hurricane season
- Wikipedia:Good topics/2000 Atlantic hurricane season
- Wikipedia:Good topics/2003 Pacific hurricane season
- Wikipedia:Featured topics/2006 Atlantic hurricane season
- Wikipedia:Featured topics/2006 Pacific hurricane season
- Wikipedia:Good topics/Off-season Atlantic hurricanes
I removed the articles and updated the count from the topics. Should I also update the individual articles' talk pages? What's the best way to indicate on Talk:Tropical Storm Ana (2003), for example, that it was removed from the off-season Atlantic GT? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:48, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
Talk page bug
editOn the talk page Wikipedia talk:Featured topics/British monarchs, the top box reads the following to me:
- This page serves as a project discussion for the Good topic, British monarchs.
- Current Status: Good topic
And uses the following image:

This doesn't seem to be happening on other FTs.

New feature 'Recently listed good topics'.
editWikipedia:Good topics/recent now shows 'Recently listed good topics' displaying on the main Wikipedia:Good topics page (similar to Wikipedia:Good articles displays 'Recently listed good articles'). This is also displayed on the overview page Wikipedia:Good content. Nice. However Wikipedia:Good topics/recent is updated manually for now. Cheers. Prhartcom (talk) 18:19, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
Augustus as a Good topic proposal
editHello! My FA on Augustus is currently undergoing a Featured article review, so I cannot nominate it and its sub-articles for Good Topic status just yet. Judging by the current votes, it looks like its FA status will be kept. However, I'm wondering if I should get Wars of Augustus up to Good status before starting a nomination process? Since it might be considered a gap and vital article missing from the bunch.
Technically I have the minimum amount of articles: Augustus is an FA, while I have managed to raise its sibling articles (1) Early life of Augustus, (2) Rise of Augustus, and (3) Reign of Augustus up to GA status. These articles were created for providing further details that could not fit into the main article, per WP:SUMMARY and WP:SPLIT. I'd like to know what others think about that, and if related articles like Constitutional reforms of Augustus, Cultural depictions of Augustus, or even Coinage reform of Augustus and Coins of Augustus should also have GANs before a Good topic nomination should be considered.
In the past I have successfully nominated a couple Featured topics for China's Han dynasty and Song dynasty, and one Good topic on Macedonia (ancient kingdom). Judging by the latter, there are plenty of related articles about Macedonia and ancient Greece that were excluded from that topic, including ones about Alexander the Great, and yet reviewers saw no problem with it. Perhaps I don't need "Wars of Augustus", then? If not that would be a relief, since the article is not in very good condition, even after some edits of mine lately to spruce it up a bit. It has a few problems with short length, scope, and sourcing (too many primary source citations). Pericles of AthensTalk 14:44, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
Symbol on articles
editIs there a reason that we can't/don't (other than it would likely need a vote) add
and
next to the good and featured article icons on pages? I always thought it was weird that GT/FT almost feels like a secret since they're only mentioned on article talk pages and most readers don't go to those. -- ZooBlazer 05:29, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
- Agreed, the current setup strikes me as a bit odd. I only learnt about topics fairly recently for this exact same reason; they're so hidden I can't imagine the vast majority of users know they exist. Adding the topic symbols the same way we highlight FA/GA articles (though even those aren't ideal since the symbols don't appear for mobile users) seems like a really good idea to me. GA → FA
editOne of my articles in this Good Topic – Wikipedia:Good topics/Figure skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics – was just promoted to Featured Article. Should I just change the little icon manually? Bgsu98 (Talk) 12:18, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
- Some people update manually, but from what I've seen (at least I think I have), the FAC bot will update it when it officially promotes the article. -- ZooBlazer 16:31, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
What would be included in a GT/FT on a country?
editThis has never been done before, but I'm curious what exactly it would entail. The closest is a GT on the ancient kingdom of Macedon, which is ofc not directly applicable. I'm thinking perhaps:
- (Main country article, X)
- Culture of (X)
- Demographics of (X)
- Economy of (X)
- Geography of (X)
- History of (X)
- Politics of (X)
Are there any important aspects of a country which wouldn't fall under one of these categories? Generalissima (talk) (it/she) 09:37, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
- There’s a requirement that all articles be linked together, such as through a template at the bottom of the page. What is the template that will be linking all of the articles? Hurricanehink mobile (talk) 13:44, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
- Been awhile since I've looked into this, but I recall there not being even a single GA for some of those article types. Regarding Hurricanehink's point there are templates such as Template:Monaco topics, which should have all the major articles. I suspect you'd need, as a start, every Main article on the country page.
