Critical reception
editVariety’s reviewer gave the film a mostly negative assessment, and wrote that the story is “very simple and elementary” and “just barely manages to maintain some suspense”. The performances of Preston Foster and Jane Wyatt were described as “hackneyed”, however “Christian Rub …. gives a swell performance …. while Rafaela Ottiano …. also impresses.”[4]
The Film Daily described the film as "primarily a fast moving melodramatic yarn" that benefited from a romance between the Preston Foster and Jane Wyatt characters and good performances from the cast.[5]
