editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Beroidae, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Beroe. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:24, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

editHi Kiwi Rex, would you mind augmenting your recent edit of Shark? You just changed the previous longer fossil range and deleted the citation supporting it, while citing your source for the shorter range only in your edit summary. I think the best solution would be a note in which both views are confronted with each other, while citing the sources. (Rough example: "Benton, 2005; Lane, 2010; Nelson, 2016; Andreev et al, 2017 all suggest that [...] while "The Paleontological Database (PBDB), 2015 argues that [...]"), The result in the main text (a shorter fossil range) may stay the same but the reader would be informed that there are dissenting views. What do you think? --ΟΥΤΙΣ (talk) 12:52, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
- The PBDB lists acanthodiians among the Selachiimorpha, which every existing source will confirm is incorrect according to the current cladistic consensus, which puts acanthodiians outside of Chondrichthyes, a clade broader than Selachiimorpha. See how all of the oldest taxa - Onchus, Ischnacanthidae, Climatius, Gyracanthus, Machaeracanthus - are acanthodiians. Their incorrect inclusion in Selachiimorpha means the PBDB cannot be used as a source in the article because it contradicts current peer-reviewed literature. I can add the sources regarding the origin of Selachiimorpha in the article. Kiwi Rex (talk) 04:52, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

Molecules have not "proven" anything,Really ?
editAt least I haven't seen any claim that Parareptilia belongs to Neodiapsida. However, the molecular analysis strongly supports the claim that pantestudines belongs to Neodiapsida. Chanchu0518 (talk) 11:33, 11 January 2026 (UTC)
- From the Pantestudines page: "However, Lee also discusses other possibilities, including a potential compatibility between the parareptile and archosaur affinities." But I have no idea why you are talking about this anyway. One line of evidence in fact strongly supports (not "proves"; see Research program as a starting reference) the placement of Testudines (and only Testudines, as other potential members of Pantestudines have no molecular data obviously) within the Lepidosauria+Archosauria clade, while some studies are still discussing and analysing different lines of evidence. An encyclopedia should represent all current views, regardless of what editors find more convincing (this is the no original research rule). Do not start edit wars, and don't remove data from taxoboxes if the information is explained in the text, or at least not without a proper discussion in the respective talk page. Kiwi Rex (talk) 14:58, 23 January 2026 (UTC)
- But I agree SlvrHwk,when was the last time someone argued for their placement within Pantestudines? Chanchu0518 (talk) 07:47, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
