Equitable multi-article compromise
editHello,
We have had conflicting edits recently about a number of paleontology articles.
I have enough humility to admit that my edits are not always beneficial, particularly in first draft, and like anybody can benefit from outside perspectives.
Wikipedia is supposed to be a collaborative project, so the thing we can all benefit from making an active effort to keep in mind is that this collaboration should be constructive.
I think your input on my intended edit of Peter Larson's page was valuable, and that the compromise we reached improved the page.
I propose we keep your reversion of my edit to Raptorex, and retain my edit to Dueling Dinosaurs.
That way, we have a consistent value being drawn here, which is that the reader can be trusted with information. The reader can be trusted with the information that Peter Larson does not hold a graduate degree in Paleontology, even if I may think he's a respectable scientist and thought it was biased wording. Similarly, the reader can be trusted with the information that some scientists classify Bloody Mary as Stygivenator, even if you may disagree with the classification. Both are verifiable facts, regardless of anyone's opinions.
I think that's a fair compromise which serves Wikipedia's mission, and no one is biasing an article one way or another based on their own personal viewpoints. ~2026-30872-07 (talk) 21:52, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
- This is not the place to discuss this, please move to the relevant talk page. Constantly moving the discussion to individual editors’ talk pages can be seen as harassment and could potentially get your IP banned from editing. That would not be ideal but I will not hesitate to pursue it if this continues. Definitely NOT Dilophosaurus (talk) 22:32, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
