I’m a contributor interested in the history, languages, and ethno-cultural identities of Anatolia and the Armenian Highlands, especially eastern Anatolia during the medieval and early modern periods. I come from a Turkish Anatolian Alevi family originally from the Erzurum region, with ancestral ties to southeastern Anatolia, particularly the historical Vilayet of Diyarbekir. My interests include:

  • Medieval Armenian history and culture
  • Eastern Anatolian cultural continuity
  • Anatolian Turkish identity and regional traditions
  • Alevi communities of eastern Anatolia
  • Historical interactions between Armenians, Turks, Kurds, and other peoples of the highlands
  • Lesser-known ethno-linguistic communities of Anatolia and the Caucasus
