This template is used to display an infobox of Korean name(s).

This template is a modified version of its parent and predecessor template, {{Infobox Korean}}. It is designed and intended to completely replace its predecessor.

Changes from parent

Semi-automatic romanization (both RR and MR) using Module:Ko-translit
Ability to add references to Hangul, Hanja, IPA, and literal translations
Some parameters have been renamed (e.g. |koreanipa= → |ipa=) for concision.
|context= has been disabled. We always display "Hangul" and "Hanja", regardless of politics (explanation).
The language labels "Revised Romanization" and "McCune–Reischauer" have been abbreviated to "RR" and "MR" in order to make the infobox less bulky.
|title= can be set even when |child=yes.
|othername= parameters default to "Alternate name"; previous version had no default.
Royal names and titles have separate parameters now.

All parameters are optional, but we recommend you add at least one of the Hangul parameters.

Main parameters

|hangul=: Optional, but recommended and required if you wish for romanization to be generated. Hangul text, possibly with symbols to adjust automatic romanization. Symbols won't appear when the Hangul is displayed. Do not wrap the text in a template like {{lang}}; this template already wraps it for you. For modern people, generally reserve this parameter for legal names; do not put a pseudonym (such as a stage name) here for them (unless their real name is not known).
|hangulref=: Optional. Reference or footnote for Hangul.
|hanja=: Optional. Hanja text. Do not wrap the text in a template like {{lang}}.
|hanjaref=: Optional. Reference or footnote for Hanja.
|lk=: Optional. English translation of term. Avoid using for people names.
|lkref=: Optional. Reference for translation.
|ipa=: Optional. IPA pronunciation for Korean term. Wrap it using {{IPA}} like {{IPA|ko|this|}}; the final | disables the label.
|iparef=: Optional. Ref for Korean IPA.
|namemode=: Optional, default no. Set it to yes to romanize hangul as if it's a person's name. Equivalent to adding % to the beginning of hangul.
This parameter is mostly appropriate for when hangul only contains a typical person's name (1 surname character). If the name is atypical or hangul contains other text besides a name, consider not using this parameter and instead inserting symbols manually into hangul.
|capitalize=: Optional, default no. Set it to yes to capitalize romanizations of hangul. Equivalent to adding ^ to beginning of hangul.
|hiderom=: Optional, default no. Set it to yes to hide semi-automatic Revised Romanization and McCune–Reischauer based on Hangul. There is generally no need to hide romanizations in this infobox. This setting affects all name parameters. The romanization can/may need to be altered using symbols that you should place in the Hangul.
|child=no: Optional, default no. Set to yes if this infobox is to be embedded in another.
|title=: Optional. If |child=no, defaults to {{PAGENAME}}. If |child=yes, defaults to Korean name. Title of the infobox, displayed at its top. Unlike {{Infobox Korean}}, can be set even when |child=yes.
|image=: Optional. The filename of the image (for File:Koreageostub.svg, set "image=Koreageostub.svg".)
|image_size=: Optional, default frameless. The width of the image in px (e.g. 220px). Do not use unless necessary.
|caption=: Optional. A caption for the image; appears beneath the image.
|headercolor=: Optional, default #CCCCFF. A background color for title. Do not use unless necessary, e.g. to match an infobox in which this is embedded as a module.
|text=: Optional. Extra information to put in the bottom of the infobox.

Additional parameters

Most of the above parameters have copies that can be used to display multiple different names for the topic.

The following suffixes can be added to most of the above parameters. For example, |hangulho= or |hanjaref1=.

mo: Monarch names or titles, including temple names.
rt: Royal title.
ho: Art name.
born: Birth name. For modern people, this is for the legal name at birth (when different from the current legal name).
ja: Courtesy name.
stage: Stage name.
ph: Posthumous name.
1, 2, 3: Other names that do not fall under other headings. For example, |hangul1=.

To set headers for each of these names, use |othername1=, |othername2=, or |othername3=. If not set, they will default to Alternate name.
