Argentina - no mention of the Welsh in Patagonia

edit

The Welsh were pioneers of the opening up of Argentine Patagonia in the 19th century and there are still Welsh speakers there today. This is not mentioned in this article even though there is a separate wikipage about it.

Incorrect data on the infobox image.

edit

Had to make an account just to say this, but, the data on the infobox map is wrong.

The main error that I could notice was the percentage of whites in Brazi, on the map it shows that that the state of São Paulo has 30% of white population, and rio has 50% percent. However, in the same article it says that Sao Paulo has 70% of self-declared whites, and on offical data in the 2022 Brazilian census, 57% of São Paulo's population declares itself white. Theres prob other erros in that map aswell Frostmaw (talk) 11:25, 30 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Use phototype scale in 'Mexico' subsection

edit

Regarding this edit to the subsection on Mexico: The INEGI source appears to be WP:SYNTH as relates to racial categorization. The second source is a primary study in the journal Surgical & Cosmetic Dermatology. It's also SYNTH. It is a primary source, and is specifically about Asian ethnicities, not about white people. It is not attempting to use skin tone for racial categorization, and the use of the Fitzpatrick scale for racial categorization would be pseudoscience. More importantly, it is not about Mexico, it's about Brazil. That study may or may not be generally reliable, but here, it's useless. This kind of misuse of poor sources remains an ongoing issue for this topic. Grayfell (talk) 21:30, 23 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Genétics

edit

PLOS genetics did a study on Chile Mexico Colombia Peru and Brazil. The numbers here should reflect that study because all these countries were measured at the same time and under the same methodology to avoid bias or error. The study is here https://journals.plos.org/plosgenetics/article?id=10.1371/journal.pgen.1005602 Trivelaspin (talk) 19:46, 6 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
