Result: Per Zxcvbnm's comment. This is pretty much a snow close. 💽 LunaEclipse 💽 🌹 ⚧ (CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST) 15:31, 12 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • Keep The article is still within the typical size for pages before the issue of intricate detail is brought up. I agree with ferret's view that there is no overly intricate detail here and the banner is not relevant. If you believe otherwise, then, please explain in more detail, simply saying "there is a banner there" to justify a reassessment goes against not a bureaucracy. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 15:19, 12 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Clarification needed

edit

I added a clarify tag to the section that reads Valve intended to "make DRM obsolete" as games released on Steam had traditional anti-piracy measures, including the assignment and distribution of product keys and support for digital rights management software such as SecuROM. My reasoning is two-fold. 1.) The quotes around “make DRM obsolete” suggest that this is a quotation, and 2. The passage reduces down to “Valve intended to make DRM obsolete by implementing DRM.” The same paragraph later goes on to say Developers are not limited to Steam's CEG and may include other forms of DRM (or none at all) and other authentication services than Steam; for example, some games from publisher Ubisoft require the use of their Uplay gaming service.

I think the sentence should be re-visited, but am unsure where to start. Horse.staple (talk) 07:34, 1 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

The quote comes directly from the next source, but that's more than a sentence away and quotes must be directly sourced, so I've reused that ref on that sentence. I also took out the part about SecureROM as that is NOT in that source. Masem (t) 13:34, 1 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Valve released an updated UI yesterday, subtle difference from the Nov 2025 shot we have, so we should update ours. Masem (t) 12:04, 5 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
