Origin of Skrillex's DJ Name
editSkrillex has joked that his DJ name was "just a silly name" he liked. However, it's been rumored that Skrillex is a combination of his three demo names: Signal, Equinox and Glow Worm. The S is from Signal. The K was a creative choice. The R is from Glow Worm. The I is from Signal or Equinox. The two Ls come from Signal and Glow Worm. The E and X are from Equinox. (In other words, SignalEquinoxGlowWorm = Skrillex) Cygote (talk) 23:12, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
This isn't going to be added. This is extremely farfetched and has no sources linked. Octostomp (talk) 00:09, 18 February 2026 (UTC)- While Signal, Equinox and Glow Worm are all track names on his unreleased 2007 Bells album, its strange for him to pick 3 random tracks from it and combine them in a mish-mosh way. Its more commonly assumed that the name is an adaptation of the "Skrill" and "Skrilly" nicknames his friends game him that he then used on AOL. OryonWithAnI (talk) 07:36, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
Rename and rewrite "2024 - Present" section to focus on album and EPs
editMore focus should be placed on FUS as it is his 4th major LP release, along with the new EPs across these past few months (Hit Me Where It Hurts X, Kora). This is a big change with a lot of citing so it should be a collective effort. Octostomp (talk) 00:12, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
Semi-protected edit request on 9 March 2026 for Awards and nominations under Skrillex's Wikipedia page
editThis edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
Under Awards and nominations, the Berlin Music Video Awards results are not color-coded to match the rest of the table. In this category, boxes labeled "Nominated" can be changed to red, and boxes labeled "Won" to green. The results in this category are also not center-justified and should be changed to center-justified text to fit with the rest of the Results column.
There are also nominations in 2025 and 2026 that can be added under the Grammy subcategory by extending the table to include the years 2025 and 2026 and the nominations for those years. In 2025, the Fred Again.. & Baby Keem track leavemealone was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Recording, which Skrillex is credited as a producer on. In 2026, Skrillex's album Fuck U Skrillex You Think Ur Andy Warhol but Ur Not!! (FUS) was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album. The track Voltage on FUS was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Recording. All of the additions here were nominated and not won; the corresponding results boxes for these additions should be labeled "Nominated" and in the corresponding red color. Partly done. I fixed the color coding, but I'll leave it to someone else more familiar with this for the rest. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 17:19, 9 March 2026 (UTC)

Not done. You are now autoconfirmed and can make the edits yourself. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 17:21, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
- Awesome thank you, at the time of making the suggestion I had not had 10 edits yet but I quickly got there yesterday. I'll get to it adding the material later today! OryonWithAnI (talk) 19:25, 9 March 2026 (UTC)

Edit war over image and occupation links
edit@Magic facewall: You need to be more civil and avoid personal attacks. I saw your most recent reply on your talk page before you deleted it. I have clearly explained my reasoning for the reverts that are backed up by MOS:OVERLINK. Also, you can't just make up your own guidelines for infobox images and tell everyone else to stop whining when they revert you for good reason and explain it to you. I am taking this to the article's talk page to reach a consensus with other editors. Bowling is life (talk) 14:36, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- Agreed. The infobox image must be the standard portrait size of 220 to 250 pixels wide, not full size. The infobox code should be allowed to scale the infobox image up and down for different viewing platforms, most often cell phone versus desktop computer. Binksternet (talk) 15:57, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
Short Description Issues
editThe short description lacks accordance to MOS:LEADCITE. It desparately needs a clean up without reducing reliability. Magic facewall (talk) 23:29, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
