Fossils of Iceland → Paleontology in Iceland – I believe this is the last article to use fossils rather than just paleontology in its title. Paleontology is broader and more appropriate for discussion of entire formations rather than individual fossils. Paleontology in Egypt was recently moved from Fossils of Egypt for similar reasons. — An anonymous username, not my real name 05:39, 6 March 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. - Comment. I see no real reason why we should prefer the American English "paleontology" over the British English "palaeontology" in any of these articles. -- Necrothesp (talk) 16:57, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Necrothesp, this is based on the article's current usage of American English ('fossilized' rather than 'fossilised'). I have no preference and it shouldn't matter as neither Iceland nor Egypt uses English natively. I don't see any words in the Egypt article that demonstrate a difference in English variety so I'm not actually sure why I went with American English in that particular case when I made the nomination (but probably just because the majority of related articles that currently exist are about US states). — An anonymous username, not my real name 00:19, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
