Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on May 26, 2024.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that the "beef" between Kendrick Lamar and Drake (both pictured) dates back to the 2013 song "Control"?

"Ongoing" feud?

edit

Many people would consider the feud to be over, and that any recent disses against one rapper or the other would be considered not part of the feud (unless the other rapper responds, restarting the feud all over again).

Should the feud now be officially over? Slimyboi500 (talk) 03:15, 29 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

I'm of the opinion that it isn't over till they squash the beef. When they shake hands or proclaim their respect for one another, that will mark the end of their feud. Until then, it's just inactive. Risedemise (talk) 20:50, 1 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
The 2024 viral escalation of the feud is over, as reflected by the current iteration of the page. However, this article isn't just about that particular escalation, but also Drake and Kendrick Lamar's far longer artistic feud that dates back to (at least) 2013. That feud is still ongoing, much like how Drake and Kanye West are engaged in a cyclically on-and-off feud. Cadenrock1 (talk) 13:17, 7 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

"Poetic Justice" theory and it's place on the page

edit

A YouTuber/podcaster named Anthony Imbrunone has described what is called the '"Poetic Justice" theory' that is gaining momentum that I thinkn should be talked about on this page. A video summarizing the main parts was uploaded by him here, but here it is briefly: Kendrick has stated that he started in the rap industry as a ghostwriter; it is speculated that Kendrick ghostwrote Drake's verse on "Poetic Justice" causing him to insult himself with the line "But I can never right my wrongs unless I write 'em down for real" - this then feeds into future lines and entendres even leading UP to Control. Also wanted to say that rapper Glasses Malone, who has worked with Kendrick, did an interview where he states that Lamar told him as far back as 2011 that he knew Drake has ghostwriters. ReferenceMaJic (talk) 19:34, 7 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
This can only be added with a reliable source: WP:RSP. A YouTuber's theory is not a reliable source. CorrectionsJackal (correct me) 14:48, 8 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
