End date on infobox
editNoticed an edit I made for the show's infobox has been reverted, and I wanted to bring it up here so as to find a consensus and not start an edit war. I had updated the show's end date, as it's been a year since the show's last episode. This is consistent with the television infobox guidelines, which mention a scenario that I believe this show falls squarely under:
"In some cases, the fate of a program might be uncertain, for example if there are no announcements that a show has been renewed. If such a program has not aired a new episode in 12 months, "present" can be changed to the date the last episode aired, using {{End date}}. This does not imply the series has been cancelled, rather that the program "last aired" on that date. This is to prevent programs from being listed as "present" in perpetuity."
Would it be all that controversial to make this change? As the infobox guidelines state, this isn't a direct implication the show's been cancelled, but as it currently stands, I don't think it's accurate to imply the show is still airing new episodes at the moment. Thanksolotl (talk) 02:51, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for providing the information from the infobox guidelines. Personally, I think that it should remain as "present" while the movie is in development. However, I'm interested to hear the opinions of others. SatDis (talk) 08:07, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
- My understanding is that the film in development is a separate production from the television show itself, and wouldn't impact the air dates of the series itself. This is how other television shows' articles handle dates- El Camino doesn't extend Breaking Bad's run to 2018, for example, likewise, Phineas and Ferb doesn't account for Candace Against the Universe on its release sidebar.
- Also may be worth noting the latter series isn't yet marked as 'present' despite having a fifth season scheduled to premiere in the near future. That may be a good approach for this article as well- especially considering the lack of information on a potential series four and when it may premiere. Thanksolotl (talk) 04:59, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- I do somewhat agree with your reasoning. However, the difference is both of those of those shows announced that they were officially concluding, and we haven't got that announcement for Bluey yet. I can foresee some people might have a problem with it being listed as ended as the brand is still so popular. Some of the quotes in the article such as "break from making episodes" and "hiatus from writing" leave it ambiguous if there will be more episodes. I'm interested to hear more opinions. SatDis (talk) 21:54, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- Like mentioned earlier, my understanding is that providing an end date after a year isn't a statement the show is concluded per se, just that it's not currently airing new episodes. I feel it's probably in the best interest to be factual and consistent with the guidelines rather than worry about whether readers may assume the worst solely from the article's air dates, without reading the text of the article, which elaborates the situation further. Even if the show itself isn't airing new episodes at the moment, it's pretty evident the brand surrounding it is still alive and well.
- That said- I can't think of any other shows in quite the same situation as Bluey regarding these sorts of vague, ambiguous statements about whether the series will continue and how, so there's not much precedent to compare it against! It's been a bit and no one else has pitched in yet, so I may edit the page and re-add the end date- if anyone else disagrees or has any opinions on this, though, I'd be curious to hear them. Bluey an Australian show only?
editIf I recall correctly, Bluey was co-produced by BBC Studios, which is a British production company, therefore, it is an Australian-British co-production, but I’m not allowed to add that fact because it’s semi-protected. 130.51.89.40 (talk) 19:13, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
- The second sentence of the lead describes the BBC's involvement. HiLo48 (talk) 02:16, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- Then why doesn’t someone edit it for consistency and add “United Kingdom” in the countries section and take out the word “Australian” at the beginning and categorize it with the same categories that say “Australian”, but replace it with the word “British”? - Or we could call it an Anglo-Australian show. Nerd271 (talk) 01:24, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
- 92.3% of the people watching this show ae ONLY interested in the fact that it a show made in Australia about an Australian family (who happen to be dogs). For these people, any British involvement is irrelevant. They would have no idea what "co-produced" means. I'm not sure I know myself. (Yes, I made up 92.3%, but I'm sure my meaning is clear.) - Not a great idea to make up non-existent statistics based on nothing and then admit that you made it up. That's not gonna help us reach a consensus at all. As for the rest, you don't know this, assuming what readers would think is also unhelpful, as there is no evidence of these claims either. Signed, SleepyRedHair. - Sorry my attempt at a little humour failed with you. I guess my point is that the BBC connection needs to be much better explained and expanded for it to be here at all. What IS the BBC's role? HiLo48 (talk) 22:54, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
- I'm fine with the status quo. It is written in Australia, animated in Australia, produced in Australia, and features mostly Australian voice actors. It is thoroughly and unapologetically Australian. Nerd271 (talk) 23:49, 21 November 2025 (UTC)

Combine articles
editIm making a request to combine the “List of Bluey characters” article into this one, as it seems fit to do so. ~2026-20053-27 (talk) 02:42, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
Not done. That list is just too long to be part of this article. Nerd271 (talk) 04:36, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
