Marinko Božović (born 27 January 1985) is a Bosnian Serb politician who serves as the Mayor of East Ilidža and is a member of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS). He also serves as a member of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska since 2014.
Biography
editBožović was born on 27 January 1985 in Sarajevo. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of East Sarajevo in 2009.[1]
After completing his studies, he began his career at UNIQA Insurance as an analyst and sales associate before being promoted to branch manager in East Sarajevo. He later joined the Municipality of East Ilidža, where he served as an adviser to the mayor on economic affairs and cooperation with non-governmental organizations.
In the 2014 general election, he was elected as a member of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, and was reelected in 2018 and 2022.[2] In October 2016, he was elected Mayor of the Municipality of East Ilidža in the local elections. He was re-elected in the 2020 and 2024.
Božović is married and has two children.[3]
