The outer acts that played included Babe Rainbow, King Stringray, and Hannah Cohen.[3]

The album is dedicated to Matt Gawiak,[4] a fan in attendance on the first day of the festival who died during the band's performance of "Oddlife". Stu Mackenzie and Joey Walker stopped the song and cleared the crowd so an ambulance could get through.[5] After being rushed to the hospital Gawiak was pronounced dead the next morning of cardiac arrest at the age of 36.[6][7] King Gizzard dedicated the last two songs of the festival "Float Along - Fill Your Lungs" and "The Dripping Tap" to Gawiak,[6] "Oddlife" was the only song the band played that did not make it onto the album.
