Use of blurry images

edit

The usual standard for images on Wikipedia is to use the highest quality available. But images here are FREE for anyONE to use for anyTHING, anyWHERE at any TIME. Imagine how that collides with copyrights! The only way we can host copyrighted images here is either 1. the creator emails the WikiMedia Foundatation that they release all rights to the image, or 2. It is used ONLY to identify the subject of an article (in the infobox) AND is small enough or blurry enough that the creepy guy in the grimy kiosk isn't copying the image from here and selling it on stickers and magnets. So if you've wondered why images here "suck," now you know! Oona Wikiwalker (talk) 00:29, 1 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

You are confusing Wikipedia with Wikimedia Commons. Ringtail Raider (talk) 02:43, 4 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
