This graphic should be altered such that the venous function curve changes are not labeled as being the result of changes in total peripheral resistance because they are not indicative of the consequences of changes in TPR. They actually reflect changes in blood volume or changes in venous compliance. Changes in TPR alter the slope of the venous function curve but do not change the x-intercept.
